Eddie Edwards

Eddie Edwards

U.S Congress

Bio

I am the former chief of police for the town of South Hampton and served as Chief of New Hampshire State Division of Liquor Enforcement. A U.S. Navy veteran and graduate of the FBI National Academy, I spent a career in law enforcement before moving to the private sector and launching a business working with small businesses to help reduce regulation and cut through red tape.

Throughout my career, I have worked to address the problems of substance abuse. I am currently a board member of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Hampshire, helping to fight the scourge of opioid abuse, and I serve as the chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice.

Guided by integrity, I have seen the waste of government from the inside and have consistently stood with New Hampshire families against expanding the role of government in our lives and the squandering of our hard-earned tax dollars. Government at every level must be small, efficient, and transparent.

Bring the young professionals back to NH. This will bolster the economy, create new jobs, appreciate north end property value, ensure competitive salaries, and help us compete in the thriving tech market. Best way to do this is by sending more of their representation to Concord.

I support decriminalization of marijuana and expanding access for medical cannabis to people suffering from ailments not currently outlined. The opioid epidemic can’t be resolved without a solution for pain sufferers. This is the “Live Free or Die” state…we need to emphasize the “free” whilst not being known for the latter.

Furthermore, I support the funding of mental health research and facilities. This is a pervasive problem millions of people suffer from but is rarely discussed because of the stigma attached…. depression and anxiety are not ailments of the weak.

I believe in fostering educational choice. You should not be restricted by the zip code in which you reside.

I am running for re-election to continue my service to Hillsborough County after serving for 12 years non-consecutively. The county treasurer is responsible for all funds held by the county. This amount can be as high as $60 to $75 million in the beginning of the calendar year. I will continue to make certain that the County’s money is fully protected. I have been able to return $1.5 million over these many years above what was budgeted and will continue to return interest earnings back to the county annually. The investments of funds are extremely important, which consists of the establishment and maintaining of a comprehensive investment policy that includes building solid and strong banking relations within our community. I will continue to make certain that the County’s money is fully protected. In order to attain this protection, I will continue to follow all rules and laws pertaining to this very important protection of taxpayer’s funds.
