You may have noticed a new resource offered by MRC that allows you to track how your representative voted. You can use the tool to search by issues important to you (First Amendment, Occupational Licensure, etc.) or your representatives by name.
Personally, I am very excited about this tool as political transparency is how we, the people, can make sure our elected representatives are voting in our best interests. All of New Hampshire is looking to the state house in anticipation as national discourse starts to pour into legislation from both sides of the aisle.
Getting to Concord for every hearing and every vote is just not feasible for most of us that are not elected to serve our communities and it’s discouraging to have our voices left out. So, let’s start some conversations, let’s engage our representatives so that we can become part of their consciences. Let’s work to commit ourselves and our representatives to honest conversations about bills before and after they’re voted on.
