Boutin wins NH Senate District 16 Primary Race
1.13.2010

David Boutin, Hooksett Town Councilor and State Representative, won all towns and wards in the district as he works to fill the seat vacated by Ted Gatsas, who is now serving as Mayor of Manchester.   Visit the candidate page on this website for more information about Boutin and his candidacy.

Boutin now goes on to face ultra liberal Jeff Goley, a Manchester firefighter and Democrat State Representative.    Representative Goley was unopposed in the primary.

The differences between the candidates is stark.  Former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu released the following statement on David Boutin’s victory:

"David is a strong fiscal conservative who has a proven commitment to lower taxes and limited government.  David’s Democrat opponent Jeff Goley has never seen a tax hike that he didn’t like. Representative Goley has blindly followed orders from the Democrat Party leadership in the Legislature and supported a broad based income tax and the job-killing LLC small business tax.

“It’s important for voters to send David Boutin to the Senate to give Republicans another vote to stop the Democrats’ reckless spending and repeal their disastrous tax hikes.”
