Jack Kimball
Jack Kimball is a lifelong New Englander and a 40 year resident of New Hampshire. Jack learned the values of hard work early by working his way through college and being a single parent. Jack also has demonstrated his understanding and commitment to service having served in the Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. While in the Navy, Jack received the Honorman of Company Award and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Following his military service, Jack moved to Nashua, New Hampshire. He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he earned his degree in Business Administration while working for BASF full-time. Later, he left BASF to start his own company eventually turning Great Bay Facility Maintenance Service into a million dollar enterprise.
Jacks decision to run for governor came after many months of thought and discussion. An active participant of the Tea Party movement, he decided the best way to fight for New Hampshire was to lead the charge in taking it back. Jack believes the Corner Office is devoid of leadership and integrity and that it is time to return both to the governorship.
In addition to his successful business pursuits, Jack is a Pease Greeter and an active supporter of military causes. His military and business history prove he is a leader who understands what it takes to preserve the New Hampshire Advantage.
Jack lives in Dover, NH with his wife Donna Marie, who is a nurse; his step-daughter, Leah; and mother-in-law, Jeanne. Jack also has a daughter Tammy who lives in Rochester with her husband Tate and two daughters Teya and Tiana.

John Stephen
John Stephen, a lifelong New Hampshire resident, is a Republican candidate for Governor.
Stephen has served as prosecutor, both at Hillsborough County and later as an Assistant Attorney General. He later advanced to become the Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Safety. Stephen headed New Hampshires largest agency, Department of Health and Human Services, from 2003 to 2007. Today, he is a partner at The Lucas Group, a management and government consulting firm based in Boston.
At The Lucas Group, Stephen leads due diligence, business development and program improvement work for numerous health care clients. He also works with state governments to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Recently, he worked with the State of Illinois to identify $2 billion in budget savings, with the South Carolina to find $1.2 billion in savings over 10 years for that states unemployment system, and with Rhode Island to craft a groundbreaking Medicaid waiver that will save state taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
As head of HHS, Stephen oversaw a $1.8 billion a year agency, which takes nearly one half (over $600 million per year) of the States budget expenses. By bringing fiscal discipline to the Department, Stephen was able to return over $143 million to New Hampshire taxpayers over his 4-year tenure. He brought major program improvements to the Department, including a new senior wellness program, a new quality rating program for child care programs, so that parents can identify top centers, and a welfare reform initiative that has been nationally recognized for its efforts to move recipients into the job market and up a career ladder.
As Assistant Commissioner of Safety from 1998 to 2003, Stephen drafted and helped to pass numerous legislative initiatives, including bills to put in place New Hampshires first felony gambling law, a vehicular assault statute, and posting the sex offender registry on the web.
During his time at the Department of Safety, Stephen also served as New Hampshires first Coordinator of Homeland Security. He was also the architect behind efforts to consolidate emergency preparedness responsibilities among state agencies. Stephen also directed the operations of the Department of Safety Task Force on Emergency Preparedness and Security in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
From 1992 to 1998, Stephen served as Assistant Attorney General. In that capacity, he was the Director of the DWI Unit and was responsible for the state-wide supervision of DWI-related cases. Additionally, Stephen prosecuted homicide crimes and regularly appeared before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on appellate issues involving criminal law. He led efforts to pass a law to reduce the legal blood alcohol level for drunk driving to 0.08 and became a recognized expert and lecturer on alcohol impairment and is a published author on the subject.
Stephen served as Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney from 1988 to 1992, prosecuting many misdemeanors and felonies. He began his legal career as a Law Clerk for Federal District Court Judge Martin F. Loughlin.
In 1996, John was elected by the voters of Manchester to the Charter Commission, which updated the citys Charter. John successfully worked to add ethics provisions to the new Charter.
Stephen is a graduate of Trinity High School in Manchester. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Stephen graduated with honors from the Detroit College of Law, where he became the Managing Editor of that schools Law Review.
Stephen has served as President of Makin It Happen, a Manchester youth-based organization. He has also served as President and Board Member of the Parish Council for Our Lady of the Cedars Church. Stephen was Chairman and Founder of the Fight to Educate, an annual fundraising event to raise money for local charities. He serves on the Board of Directors of the 100 Club, which raises money for the families of fallen firefighters, police and emergency workers. He also served as a Board Member for the Center of Hope for at-risk children. Stephen is a past Co-chair and current Executive Committee Member of the Veterans Count Club at Easter Seals, an organization dedicated to raising funds for emergency services for veterans and families.
Stephen, 47, lives in Manchester with his wife, Jenny, and two daughters, Nicole and Hannah.

Karen Testerman
Karen was raised in a modest home in a small California farming community where she developed her core beliefs as a social and fiscal conservative. Her grandparents immigrated from Japan and Poland. Although her grandparents were prevented from becoming naturalized citizens until their sunset years, they raised their children to be proud Americans. Her father was a member of the 442nd Battalion, the most highly decorated battalion, during World War II.
Born in Colorado, her parents moved to California where Karen attended schools in the Central Valley. To help pay for college school supplies, she worked as a nurses aide and lab assistant. She met her husband David Testerman at college. While David served in the U.S. Air Force Karen devoted herself to providing a nurturing home for their four children. Their sons are active duty members of the Air Force and Navy. Their eldest daughter is a Coast Guard veteran. In her spare time Karen volunteered with the Officers Wives Clubs in community outreach to disabled children, hospitals and nursing homes and served as the Marine Mom for the US Marine Embassy Guard Unit in Australia. The Testermans moved to New Hampshire in 1993 and currently live in Franklin.
Karen is a long time advocate of family values and rights. She joined with a group of grassroots activists who fought the introduction of Goals 2000 in New Hampshire to a standstill. As Executive Director of Cornerstone Policy Research (a New Hampshire family policy organization she founded in 2000), she became the leading voice for the traditional family. She led the fight on numerous family rights issues. Karen is also the go-to person for national pro-family groups' activities in the State. She is a recipient of the Family Research Council Family Faith and Freedom Award and the Cornerstone Policy Research William Wilberforce Award. NH Magazine selected her as one of their Remarkable Women. Karen was host of a weekly radio show called New Hampshire Policy and People that covered a variety of topics that affect the family. She is also a columnist and author.
Shortly after arriving in NH in 1993, Karen looked for a family policy council associated with Focus on the Family. Learning that there was not such a group in NH, she set about understanding how to found and grow an organization that would network with other state policy organizations around the country. Starting a non-profit as a new resident to the state required familiarizing herself with the laws of the state, getting to know the people, the government and legislative process, becoming knowledgeable about the issues, in addition to raising the funds necessary to grow the organization. Cornerstone Policy Research officially opened its doors in 2000.
She established the Steward of the Family Award to recognize individuals in NH who made a difference for strengthening and/or defending family values. Later she established the coveted William Wilberforce Award given to person in public policy who exemplifies the statesmanship and diligence of abolitionist, William Wilberforce. These awards are presented at the annual fundraising dinners with prominent national figures like Ken Starr, Star Parker, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, and Oklahoma State Senator Steve Russell, retired US Army.
In addition to her family, Karen has the ability to build broad coalitions of diverse groups to accomplish common goals. These have included pro family, pro gun, taxpayer groups, political leaders, military groups and religious leaders.
Karen has been active with several organizations such as Coalition of NH Taxpayers, Faith Based Action Network, the New Hampshire Alliance, NH Firearms Coalition, Church, NH Right to Life, and the Abstinence Advisory Committee of Health and Human Services. She served as the co-chair to develop the Faith Based Community Initiative in NH and is a member of the NH Firearms Coalition and a life member of Gun Owners of NH. She was also the only NH representative to First Lady Laura Bushs Conference on Helping Americas Youth.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and has been certified to teach (and has taught) science courses through the college level. She is an accomplished vocalist, enjoys cooking, a variety of needle works, the outdoors, and helping others.

On both the state and local level, Rich is recognized as someone who brings tremendous talent and vision to every project he undertakes. In 2010, he is ready to take on the challenge of representing the Granite State in Congress.
Following his graduation from college in 1986, Rich headed to Capitol Hill. His career began in the U.S. Senate where he worked on Sen. Gordon Humphreys staff, then spent six years as a senior legislative aide to Sen. Warren Rudman. Sharing Rudmans passion for fiscal responsibility and debt reduction, Rich became the first State Director of the New Hampshire chapter of the Concord Coalition when he returned to the state in the early 1990s. Bringing an end to deficit spending continues to be one of Richs most important on-going goals.
For the past seventeen years, Rich worked as a senior executive with BAE Systems in Nashua, a $5 billion global aerospace company that also happens to be one of New Hampshires largest private employers, and its largest manufacturer. Richs work there contributed to the success of dozens of programs that have increased and sustained thousands of New Hampshire jobs, and protected and saved the lives of countless U.S. and allied men and women in uniform. Rich is 45 years old, a life-long Republican and long-time political activist. In 2004, he was a delegate to the Republican National Convention, where he served on the Platform Committee. Peter Bearse
My goal in life has been to do whatever I can to help rebuild the American political community from the ground up. My purpose is to bring back the politics of both Abraham Lincoln and of the Greatest Generation. A people-based politics is my passion.
Politics has become dominated by a small, so-called political class driven by big money and mainstream media. All politics is no longer local. The federal government has become too big, too centralized, too bureaucratic and too distant. The Congress which, as a peoples House, is supposed to be the primary branch of government, has become downgraded, depreciated and corrupted. It is becoming more and more a monied house like the Senate.
Members of Congress sometimes get elected on a platform of reform or change but they do not know how to effect change. So, they end up being co-opted into the Congressional club. I am not a joiner of clubs. I am a fighter for people, an asker of hard questions, a teller of hard truths, a change-agent and a whistleblower. I would use the full resources of the Congressional office to empower the people of New Hampshires First District so that, together, we can fight for real changes in how Congress conducts (or fails to conduct) the publics business.
I am running to:
Bring back a people-based politics the politics of Abe Lincoln & reduce reliance upon a big-buck-based politics. We have the best Congress money can buy, a Congress whose performance has earned the approval of only 11-22% of voters; the disapproval of over 70%.
Change the way Congress conducts or fails to conduct the publics business. For without leadership for a new and better Congress, our hopes for Congress as the one branch of government that is the peoples house will be dashed. The way the publics business is now conducted in Washington is both backward and corrupt. It suffers from short-term-it is, ad-hocism, trading access to power for money, and over-reactions in response to problems that are long-term, systematic and in need of co-deliberation with the public rather than knee-jerk actions. The public interest and better futures both suffer.
End the financial arms-race that Congressional races have become, so that ordinary Americans like Abe Lincoln can have a chance in national politics.
Make NH Congressional District #1 a leader in the next Congress, showing the ways a Member and his constituents, together, can make a difference on the major issues facing us.
I am also running to bring to the job an approach, attitude and talents that are needed in the Congress but that have been missing or in short supply for a long-time. These include:
A new approach: To set up a Congressional Office thats devoted to empowering NH people rather than Washington lobbyists, bureaucrats, media pundits and career politicians.
An outspoken, independent-minded Rep. who would vote the issues, not political party, who would break with partisanship for the sake of the country, especially as to what needs to be done to repair the damage of both Republican and Democratic Administrations.
Providing better information to voters, devoted to accountability
A Congressman who is a watchdog & whistleblower.
Experience & understanding of science, technology, entrepreneurship & innovation as the prime drivers of job creation.
A big-picture focus on the major, long-term issues that will affect the well-being of your family for generations to come NOT on quickie reactions to generate media hype for re-election.
Experience as an economist that I would use to help folks through the hard times, strengthen the middle class and improve jobs & incomes of/for the many rather than the few.

Frank Guinta
Frank Guinta is the former Mayor of New Hampshire's largest city, Manchester. First elected in 2005, Frank has spent the past two terms working to deliver on his campaign promises by reducing violent crime and giving citizens the first tax cut in a decade.
Frank has a strong history of public service prior to becoming Mayor, serving two terms as an Alderman and two terms as a State Representative from Manchester.
As an elected official, Frank has consistently fought to get violent criminals off the streets, reduce the tax burden on citizens and improve the business and family climates of New Hampshire.
Keeping his promise to increase police complement, Manchester has seen a 10% increase of officers on the streets and the implementation of the Compstat crime statistic program in the Manchester Police Department. Modeled after former New York Mayor Rudy Giulianis successful program, this multilayered approach to crime reduction showed immediate results. During his tenure, Manchester has seen a 15% drop in violent crime.
One of the greatest struggles for families and businesses alike is the tax burden. Frank has proposed three tax cuts, worked for zero based budgeting, cut capital spending and proposed fiscally sound consolidations. He believes in difficult economic times it is imperative that government reduces--not increases--the burden on residents.
Frank, and Manchester under his leadership, has been recognized for many accomplishments during his tenure including: implementation of a comprehensive Student Information System (SIS) to present real-time data on the more than 16,000 Manchester School District students; the Rimmon Heights Neighborhood Initiative, which is a public-private-nonprofit neighborhood revitalization program; The West Side Neighborhood Health Center which includes a Pregnancy Care Center, Child and Adolescent Clinic, and Primary and Mental Health Care; and the facility expansion of five colleges in Manchester.
Frank holds a Bachelors Degree from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and a Masters Degree in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH.
In 2001 Guinta and his wife, Morgan, were honored in the first year of The New Hampshire Union Leader's 40 Under Forty program. They are the only husband and wife to be so honored by the newspaper.
Frank and Morgan live in Manchester with their two children, Colby and Jack.

During his tenure as RNC Committeeman, Sean has been a forceful advocate for maintaining New Hampshire's time-tested First in the Nation Primary. While serving on the RNC Rules Committee, the RNC codified New Hampshire's leadoff role in the presidential primary, the first time either major party had taken such a strong position in recognition of New Hampshire's vital role in electing presidents. In December, 2008, Sean stood up the establishment and co-sponsored a resolution opposed to government bailouts of the banks and other private industries. In April, 2010, Sean resigned from the RNC in protest of the excessive spending at the RNC.

Both the NH House and Senate have passed budgets that are fiscally irresponsible. Both budgets increase spending by more than 11% while state revenues have shrunk during a deepening recession. To pay for this, the Democrats have raised taxes, hiked fees, and downshifted costs to property taxpayers. Families are struggling to pay their mortgages and put food on the table, small businesses are trying to keep their doors open and people working, so why in the world would we be asking them to pay even more?
It is time that state government cut spending instead of raising taxes. As a member of the House Ways & Means Committee, I have voted against every one of these taxes, fee increases and downshifting of costs. As a member of the Senate, I will do exactly the same thing. State departments need to prioritize programs and services and make difficult budget decisions. These are the same decisions that all of us are making every day during this recession and it is time that state government did the same.
Please join my efforts to bring common sense and fiscal conservatism back to the State House.

I have lived in Manchester's Ward 2 since 1998. My wife, Janine, and I have raised our 3 children here and we appreciate the opportunity to live in such a safe and prosperous community.
Our kids, Ashley, Stephen and Allyson, are all products of the Manchester Public School System. All 3 were educated at Weston Elementary, Hillside Middle School and Central High School. Ashley is currently pursuing her business degree at SNHU in Manchester. Stephen is a pre-med Microbiology major at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and Allyson will be a freshman this fall at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.
I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and I grew up working alongside my father in his commercial construction business. I have experienced the day to day challenges involved in being self-employed and running a small business and I know what it's like to get your hands dirty to provide for your family. I have shouldered the burden of making the tough decisions that every business owner must make. Since the majority of New Hampshire's citizens are employed by small businesses, I am confident that my real world experience has prepared me very well to represent the people of Ward 2 in the State House.
One of the greatest privileges I have ever had was the time I spent as co-host of the "Mike & Moe In The Morning" radio show in Manchester, Portsmouth/Exeter, Rochester and Lebanon from 2001 to 2004. Our program offered in depth discussions of important local issues and interviews with newsmakers. We also mobilized our listeners to raise thousands of dollars for charitable causes like the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, "Back to School Is Cool" to provide school supplies to needy area kids and "A Little Taste of Home" to provide care packages for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I thoroughly enjoyed my opportunities to interact with the people of our state and these experiences convinced me that I wanted to stay involved in shaping the future of New Hampshire.
I am running to be your Ward 2 State Representative because I believe that Concord's seemingly endless upward spiral of taxation, spending and government growth is unsustainable and will ultimately erode your liberty and result in the loss of our New Hampshire Advantage. Let other states wallow in deficit spending and out of control bureaucracy. New Hampshire is the place where people live within their means and demand that their government does the same.
I ask for your support and your vote on Primary Day - Tuesday, September 14, 2010. I look forward to meeting each Ward 2 resident on the campaign trail and to serving you in the State House.

Cameron DeJong
I was born in Bath New York in October of 1979. Two months later, I moved to Bath North Carolina with my parents. In 2002, I graduated from Elon University with my degree in Political Science. During the early 2000s, I began speaking to groups about the self-reliance; motivating individuals to know that they can do well by doing what is right. I had the honor of speaking to several high school and college groups.
It was in 2004 when I became actively involved in electoral politics, managing a US House campaign. Through this campaign and others, I saw a dirty, corrupt side to politics. I vowed to leave politics and focus on my private life and private business. However, our government threatens to grow at alarming rates and corruption is non-stop. I knew I had to do my part for freedom and liberty. I was proud to change my plates to "Live Free or Die." I came from North Carolina, a state where many people from the have relocated. The cost of living in North Carolina continues to increase with people going for lower taxes, but demanding the services they had in their former states. The trend is very similar in New Hampshire. More people are now being elected to office holding the view that they can move to a state with no sales or income tax, spend more, and somehow not bankrupt our government system.
Privately, I work as a sales leader in the wireless industry. An articulate motivator of ideas and individuals, I believe in continued personal and professional growth. I recently returned to graduate school at SNHU to obtain my Masters in Marketing. In 2009, I was elected as a Selectman in Manchester's Ward Two. My education, my work, and life experiences will help formulate bold new ideas for work and for the citizens of Manchester Ward 2 and all of New Hampshire.

I am a native of NH and life-long resident, a Manchester resident for 15 years, and am semi-retired. I have served as ward selectman and am currently the moderator for Ward Two. Active in the Republican party, I am a representative to the state committee. I am a fiscal conservative. I am running because we are losing something in NH that we really must not. NH has always been the envy of New England because of the cautious way we've handled our state's money, and the way we ask our elected officials to conduct themselves. This is changing and for the worse. I hope to help bring sanity back to the General Court. I will be there every session and every vote to represent you and your neighbors. I moved to New Hampshire 4 years ago for the same reasons most of you live here: low taxes and a state government which respected personal freedom. Over the last few years, I've seen those very reasons threatened, first by well-intentioned folks who want to run other people's lives, and then by the global recession.
In my three years as a civilian engineer in North Carolina helping the Marines and Navy keep helicopters in the air, state government was a far-off and silent thing, something average citizens had no way of interacting with, except for paying their taxes. But when I moved here, I learned New Hampshire wasn't that way- citizens were expected to understand politics and to interact with their representatives, to keep government honest.
So I decided to run for state rep, to give my Ward an accessible voice in Concord. A voice which will shout what any working person knows but state governments haven't figured out yet: Cut your budget and save money now, so that we don't go bankrupt in the future!
Besides cutting the budget, my promises are to vote against anything not allowed by the US and NH Constitutions, to knock on every door in the Ward once a year to hear peoples' concerns, and to post every vote I take on my website, for all to see. It's time for big government and secret government to end!

Richard Olson
Richard H. Olson Jr. is a candidate for State Representative, District 12, Ward 5. Rick is not a career politician having only served us as a selectman in Ward 12, but he has great real world experience that will serve us well in Concord. In 2001, Rick and his family moved to Ward 5, where Rick's father was born and raised.
Rick Olson is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelors degree in Social Science, and subsequently attended Massachusetts School of Law in Andover MA.
Rick and his wife Lisa have three children and four grandchildren: A daughter who resides in Elizabethtown PA with her husband and four children; and a son who is enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Benning, GA. The youngest daughter remains at home and attends Manchester public schools.
Rick Olson served for five years as the President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club and presently sits on the board. He is the treasurer of the New Hampshire Wildlife federation and teaches Hunter Education with the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department. He is presently serving Manchester on the City Conservation Commission, which helps our city maintain a balance between our natural resources and the increasing pressure of development.
Rick decided to run for New Hampshire State Representative over growing concerns that the characteristic New Hampshire is being eroded away. Rick believes there is no aspect of government more paramount than the basic liberties of New Hampshire citizens. As a constitutional conservative, Rick Olson is an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment, he believes in smaller government, lower taxes, and getting an intrusive government out of the lives of New Hampshire citizens.
Rick earnestly believes New Hampshire has a spending problem and not a revenue problem. He understands that Manchester families have had to make tough decisions in regards to their household budgets, now is the time for politicians in Concord to make those tough decisions regarding our state spending. Rick knows it is simply irresponsible to keep kicking the ball down the road for future generations to deal with.
New Hampshire citizens can not afford increasing debt and higher taxes that will only serve to compound our states problems. Rick will never support an income or sales tax and is opposed to the jobs killing LLC tax. In Concord Rick Olson will be a leader in the fight to keep our New Hampshire Advantage of low taxes and limited government.

Robert "Bob" Tarr
Robert ‘Bob’ Tarr is a candidate for State Representative, Hillsborough District 12, Ward 5 of Manchester. Robert and his family moved to Manchester in 1997, they have four children in the Manchester School District. Robert has been actively involved with their education from 1998 to the present day.
Robert began working the Head Start Program where he was the State and Local Community Representative for Southern New Hampshire Services (SNHS) Head Start Policy Council from 2001 to 2004.
Robert continued to advocate for a higher education for the students of Manchester by serving ten years as an elementary school parent volunteer from 1998 to 2008. Robert also served as the Co-President of the Wilson Elementary Parent Group, Partners in Education (P.I.E) from 2006-2007. Robert helped co-write a new Manchester School District Five Year Master Plan from 2005 to 2007. The master plan was adopted by the Board of School Committee in 2007. Robert assisted and advocated for the new math curriculum “Everyday Math” in 2006 at the elementary level. The new math program was adopted and went district-wide in 2007. Robert has also assisted in School Improvement Plans for Henry Wilson Elementary.
Robert has also assisted in many community based organizations to reduce crime, reduce the high school dropout rate, create safe routes to schools and is a captain of a neighborhood watch group in Ward 5.
Robert’s knowledge in student education, planning and finacial responsibility as well as years of community involvement makes him an excellent choice to be a representative of Manchester’s Ward 5 and its people.
Robert believes the State of New Hampshire has great values. Yet the current leaders in Concord have decided to ignore these and continue on a path of higher spending and taxes. They have passed such spending, taxes and fees on the very people they represent. They continue to ignore that high standards of education and a well-balanced business friendly outlook is a must to keep the state’s economic future growing and expanding.
Robert will work to reduce spending and reduce the size of our government. Robert does not support board-based taxes such as an income or sales tax. He will bring leadership back to our state, show responsibility to those he represents and dedicate his time to working hard for the people who work, live and raise a family here.

I believe there is a need for ordinary people to get involved in government, people with morals, values and common sense who have been living with the laws and understand how they impact our lives. I am a retired postal worker on a fixed income who has lived in Ward 6 for 40 years. I am tired of the tax and spend element in the state house and hope to be one of the agents of change who will help bring this wonderful state back to fiscal sanity. I will vote against new taxes and absurd/unconstitutional legislation that intrudes on individuals and businesses. I will vote for Manchesters fair share of school funding money, parental rights, a balanced budget and restoring the N.H. advantage.

Kathleen Cusson-Cail
A New Hampshire native, Kathleen Cusson-Cail has chosen to live and work in the Manchester area and attend local schools. She has significantly contributed to the economic development in the region, both through her former business that was located on Elm Street, and in her ongoing Board and consulting roles in the non-profit sector. She has withstood many hardships and readily understands issues that parents, seniors, employees, and business owners face.
Kathleen believes in the New Hampshire advantage: a income and sales tax-free environment that encourages freedom, job growth, and quality of life. She is enthusiastic that her current roles will enable her to run for public office and, with your vote in November, represent the people of Ward 7 (District 14) in Manchester.
Ross Terrio
Hi, my name is Ross Terrio and I am running for state representative for ward 7 here in Manchester and I am asking for your vote. I am married with 3 kids in the public school system, I live on South Cypress Street and I work as a pharmacist.
I am running for state representative because I care about the City of Manchester and I care about the State of New Hampshire. I will help to keep the things that make New Hampshire and Manchester great while I work hard towards making them even better.
I am a fiscal conservative and believe that the government needs to live within its means just as many of my neighbors and myself live within our means. I will work hard to keep a tight control on spending.
We need people like myself to control spending because the current democratic majority has irresponsibly increased spending by over 17% causing huge budget deficits. The democratic majority has increased taxes and fees to try and pay for the increased spending. What they have done has hurt our economy, hurt the average family and hurt the average taxpayer. They need to be stopped before they can do any more damage.
Another problem that we face is a lack of government representation. Many of our elected officials are unable to represent us because of work or other responsibilities. This has led to an absentee problem at the statehouse. If your elected officials are not present to vote for you then they are not representing you. I am better able to represent you because I work evenings, with my days free to watch out for your interests at the statehouse.
I will work hard to improve education for all of our children. This issue is very important to me because of my own children in the Manchester School System. I will work hard to improve access to healthcare while controlling costs. I intend to use my 14 years of work experience in the field of health care to do this.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I would appreciate your vote on election day.

Steve Vaillancourt
In six terms, Steve Vaillancourt has earned the reputation as Manchester's hardest working State Representative, crusading in a bipartisan manner to lower spending and taxation and to keep government from intruding into our lives. Steve has been in the forefront of issues vital to Manchester--on the Public Works Committee when airport access road plans were finalized; on the Finance Committee when the education funding plan, which now delivers more than $60 million in property tax relief, was first formulated; on the Election Law Committee when the Supreme Court redistricting mess was straightened out; and most recently as the first member of the Ways and Means Committee to warn how overestimation of revenue estimates would lead to a quarter billion budget shortfall. For dedication to animal rights legislation, including sponsoring a bill which returned state monies to education funding after they had been hijacked for advertising greyhound racing, Rep. Vaillancourt received the prestigious Humane State Legislator Award from the Humane Society of the United States. Always alert to Constitutional principles, Rep. Vaillancourt respects individual rights and lives up to the Jeffersonian warning, "Government which governs least governs best."

State Representative Wards 10, 11, & 12
Thomas Beattie
Thomas Beattie

Jerry Bergevin
Hello my name is Jerry Bergevin I'm running for State Representative in district 17, wards 10,11 and 12. Let me tell you what I support and do not support.
Our state economy needs representatives who want to put people back to work. Businesses are not hiring due to the recession so there is a need to write laws to protect and develop business to stimulate job growth and put you back to work. I support cutting taxes and burdensome regulations on businesses so they can grow and expand to create new jobs for the states future healthy economy. This will take time and it is not easy but the alternative is to continue raising taxes in a recession and continuing unemployment benefits with no job growth. My plan is to create an atmosphere of job growth where employed citizens then pay taxes to fill the states empty coffers to balance the budget.
I have a proposal and a challenge, I support giving you the right to place binding referendum questions on the ballot during each election cycle for you to vote on that will have the power to change law. This would require a change to our Constitution and that requires three fifths of the House of Representatives to agree along with three fifths of the Senate and then it would be on the ballot for two thirds of the people to approve in order to become law . Remember Our History from the Boston Tea Party to Concord and Lexington "the shot heard round the world" let this be the spark to start the conversation from the grassroots. Let it be the shot heard around the state. I ask you the voters here on the west side if you agree please spread the word through the internet etc... This goes beyond the west side and our city it involves the entire state. Please tell your friends and family throughout the state, ask them to contact whoever is running for State Representative and State Senator in their part of the state to find out that candidates position on this proposed constitutional change. This is your challenge, it is an uphill challenge ! Remember Freedom is not Free or Easy !
Our State Founding Fathers wrote our Constitution in a brilliant way that makes it difficult to change the Constitution ,this is intended to protect our peace and security. Our heritage as Americans with the Blessings from God and our can-do spirit of achievement let us then show the remaining members of the Greatest Generation that we have what it takes to solve Concords problems. This situation goes beyond party politics ,we are at a point in our state history where the security of our personal freedoms, our life and economic prosperity are in jeopardy. You the people pay the taxes to government, therefore you own the state and you should have the final say on major issues
I have a passion and enthusiasm for this challenge. President Reagan had faith that the American People given the facts and the truth the better Angels of our nature would make the right decision. I believe the same about you the voters of N.H. Remember the problems that face our state today ,the shadow of the Claremont Lawsuit still hangs over the state, the redefinition of marriage, town and city spending caps, gambling ,parental notification, medical marijuana, the right to home school your children etc... These are the types of questions that could appear on the ballot for voters to decide. Consider the alternative a small cadre of politicians and bureaucrats in Concord fear you having this power, they want to dictate the agenda of our freedoms, our life and our economic prosperity. The challenge is in your hands New Hampshire !
I am a Pro Life Roman Catholic who believes we need State Constitutional protections for babies in the womb , senior citizens and the disabled. Senior citizens should not be anxious when future healthcare laws take effect. I believe state laws should protect seniors in their golden years now that healthcare is in the future and the law is fuzzy depending upon whomever is in power at the moment. Seniors entering a hospital for care should not fear unscrupulous bureaucratic interpretations that could cost them their lives. Veterans who have served our nation deserve the best in healthcare and those same state constitutional protections regarding their life also.
I support the right of parents to home school their children and I firmly support your right to protect your life through the second amendment.
My entire campaign may be summed up in three simple ideals Protecting your Personal Freedoms, Protecting your Life and your Economic Prosperity.
Voters of the west side of Manchester, I have a question I want you to ask yourself before you vote, Are you better off today than you were two years ago?
If your answer is no then I want to be your new Representative to make real change in N.H. for the better.

Phil Greazzo
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My name is Phil Greazzo (pronounced: gree-ah-zo) and I'll be a representative that's aware and involved with what's going on in our state government. Our tax burden has become too high and not enough effort or leadership has been given to look for the best way to keep taxes low or keep spending under control. The first step towards avoiding a sales or income tax is to eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending. By streamling and consolidating departments to create more efficient and accountable government, we not only reduce our costs, we keep our economy moving in these tough times. I will work to address your concerns before they become larger problems so that you can be sure to have a voice in Concord. I will do all that I can to preseve what makes New Hampshire special and help to restore personal responsibility as well as the freedoms and liberty that go along with it.

Tammy Simmons
I moved to New Hampshire 20 years ago and have been a homeowner in West Manchester for the past 11 years. Over the past decade I have become very active at the city and state level, whether it has been working on a political campaign or as the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition where I have focused on the state education funding and more recently on putting a spending cap on the November ballot here in Manchester.
Because I am self-employed, I have the flexibility that will allow me to attend all house sessions and play an active role as your state representative. I plan to work diligently to preserve the ideals that brought me to NH in the first place. I strongly believe in limited government and that the taxpayers are far better suited to decide how their hard earned money is spent than any government official is. Because of this, I will oppose any state income or sales tax and instead focus on how we can reduce unnecessary state and county spending and vote against unnecessary regulations on individuals and businesses. I am pro-life and a strong proponent of parental rights and I am a solid supporter of the second amendment.
I am currently a NHGOP state committee member, and have been treasurer, secretary and webmaster for the Manchester Republican Committee.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve the residents of West Manchester and bring positive change to Concord. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Tammy4StateRep@gmail.com.

"Bob" Burns
I have been a New Hampshire Citizen all my life. Born in Merrimack NH raised in Bedford NH, I attended West High School were I participated in sports and extracurricular activities. My first job working on the county complex in Goffstown NH gave me a unique perspective into the working of the county. In high school I became a manager at a local McDonalds which gave me valuable management experience. Later on I graduated from Keene State College with a degree in Business Management. For the past 10 years I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry, for a company that provides test equipment in North and South America.
I am asking for your vote on November 4, 2008. I am running for the position of Hillsborough County Treasurer as a Republican because of my passion for personal freedoms and the New Hampshire advantage. Working in cooperation with the County Commissioners I pledge to bring integrity, honesty and transparency to the Treasures Office.
I believe in lower taxes, less government waste, less spending and more efficiency. As Treasurer, I will protect the New Hampshire advantage, while fighting to restore prosperity, innovation, and opportunity to the County of Hillsborough.
In the past few weeks, I have traveled across the county and heard the same things from many Hillsborough County citizens. People are going through tough economic times, they are tired of partisan politics and the business as usual mentality, what they want is a County Treasurer who is independent, who will truly bring the Live Free or Die values of New Hampshire to the Office.

"Toni" Pappas
A former State Representative, Toni is currently serving her sixth term as a Hillsborough County Commissioner. She is President of the NH Association of Counties and Chairman of the Hillsborough County Commission. During this economic downturn, Toni would like to continue in these positions and offer a responsible voice statewide for Hillsborough County. A proven fiscal conservative, Toni has successfully administered a debt-free, 80 million dollar county budget, delivering vital services to over 350,000 constituents at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer. This required hard work, enormous time and lengthy experience. In the years ahead, Toni would like to continue caring for our elderly and neediest people, and represent the citizens of Hillsborough County to the best of her ability.
